In partnership with M.U.S.T and The Nature Project: 'Intro to MTB' classes for urban teens & youth at Duthie Hill

Vivika Stamolis Jan 20, 2025

This Fall, Evergreen partnered with The Nature Project and M.U.S.T. programs to bring two "Intro to Mountain Biking" programs to about 20 urban teens, most of whom had never biked on trails before.

Evergreen instructors met up with the teens at Duthie Hill Park, where The Nature Project kicked off the program with mindfulness exercises to connect the students to their beautiful, forested surroundings. Teens went through drills to learn basic bike handling skills and then the day concluded with a group trail ride full of the hoots & hollers that comes from biking in the woods.

"Getting more people out on trails is a priority for Evergreen and we're grateful for the opportunity to partner with like-minded community organizations to share the stoke of mountain biking with others," said Kristen McCune, Evergreen's Education Director.
Special thanks to Y.E.T.I. for providing the bike fleet.
