Frequently Asked
Questions
What does my membership fund?
Member dues fund trail construction and maintenance, advocacy work with land managers and state agencies, education programs including youth camps and adult clinics, and operations across nine regional chapters. A portion of every membership goes directly to your local chapter.
Do I need to be a member to attend a work party?
Most work parties are open to non-members as a way to try volunteering before joining. However, membership is required for the Sawyer chainsaw program and some skills clinics. Check the event listing for specific requirements.
How is Evergreen different from a trail association?
Evergreen is a licensed general contractor as well as a trail advocacy nonprofit. We do direct trail construction (not just volunteer maintenance), hold legal agreements with land managers, employ professional trail crew, and represent mountain bikers in state and local policy processes. We also run the PMBI instructor certification pipeline for Washington.
What's the difference between Rider, Builder, and Team Epic?
Rider ($50/yr) is a single individual. Builder ($100/yr) covers your entire household. Team Epic ($500/yr) is a premier household membership with added benefits: up to 5 household members, annual gift item, exclusive ride invitations, and behind-the-scenes access with staff and Board. All tiers fund the same work.
My chapter has its own website. Is it separate from Evergreen?
Some chapters (Central, East, West Sound) maintain their own websites in addition to their pages on evergreenmtb.org. All nine chapters are part of Evergreen MTB Alliance — membership covers all chapters statewide.
How do I sign up for a Dirt Camp?
Camp schedules and registration are handled through the EMBA member portal at evergreenmtb.org/education/camps ↗. Scholarships are available — contact your local chapter or email info@evergreenmtb.org.
Can my business sponsor Evergreen?
Yes. Partnership tiers range from $750 to $50,000+, with statewide and chapter-level options. View the full 2026 partnership packet at evergreenmtb.org/sponsorship/ or contact alex@evergreenmtb.org.
